Memorial Day Politics

How perfect. Some freakish religious group that nobody knows anything about comes out of nowhere and protests at a few military funerals. Next thing you know, on Memorial Day, Bush signs a law prohibiting protests at military funerals. Yes, it’s perfect. Perfect Memorial Day politics. It also sets a fine precedent. Maybe we should ban all war protests everywhere, in case they should offend someone.

As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "In politics nothing happens by chance. If something happens, then you can bet that it was planned that way."
